Funder In Hawaii.
On April second, Tom and Funder were getting ready to go on a trip to Hawaii
the name of the ship that they were going to Hawaii in was the S.S. Victoria.
While Funder was busy making sure that the car was ready for the trip
( they were going to take the car with them) Tom packed the clothes and Food.
Then off they went to the dock where some sailors loaded the car on the ship.
On Tuesday morning bright and early Funder and Tom stood on the deck of the ship wondering what they were going to do in Hawaii, just that a sailor said “hey Funder and Tom could you make some rowboats for us?
“Sure” answered Tom “coming Funder”?.
It took Tom and Funder the rest of the trip to make four row boats When they got to Hawaii the captain thanked them for the rowboats. When Funder and Tom stepped of the boat the saw a very big welcoming party waiting to greet all of the passengers, after all of luggage was unloaded and all of the passengers had put there luggage away there was a big celebration, Tom asked an Islander were he could find airport the man looked very puzzled and then asked “ what is an airport” “ It is a place where you keep airplanes.
“ What are airplanes?”
“They are things that fly in the air.” “ I am sorry but I have never heard of them before”.
Then another Islander called him and asked to show somebody how they pick coconuts.
So Tom told Funder what had happened, then Funder suggested that they get permission from the king to make two air planes and one helicopter.
The next day Tom went to get permission from the king, to make them then he drove back to the hotel where they were staying and told him the great news, so after lunch Funder and Tom drew the plans for the airplanes and the
helicopter. It took them one week make they airplanes (not including Sunday)
and a half a week to make the helicopter. The king seeing that they were very good mechanics and inventors asked them if they could make automatic washer and dryers and hands that put clothes in and take them out then fold them, They said that they would try. Tom and Funder made twenty washer and Dryers.
Chapter 2: The last day in Hawaii
The next day Tom and Funder packed their bags and headed back to the dock were a farewell party was waiting. It was a wonderful party with coconut milk and a ton of food.
After the last goodbye was said, Tom said“ that was the best vacation ever”.
