This is a story that I wrote, I got the idea for them from the Box car children.
Rickey and Rachel in Florida
Chapter 1
One day during Dinner Father announced that the whole family including
there grandparents were going on a vacation in Florida.
"When"asked Rickey
"Next week" said Father
"When do we pack" asked Rachel "After church"answered mother.
After Dinner Rickey and Rachel made there lists of things to pack
Then they went down stairs to Bible study then they went to bed the next day was Saturday.
The next day Rickey and Rachel cut the grass and trimmed bushes
while there Dad put more gas and air in the car. Mother and
Grandmother baked food for the trip, and Grandfather helped
Sally pack. It was six in the afternoon by the time everyone
finished getting the house and car ready. There friends who
traveled all a rounded the world preaching,were going to stay at there house while they were gone on vacation. After they had Dinner and played a few games before Bed. The next Morning after church everybody packed except:Grandfather,Grandmother, and Sally. After every one was packed Rachel said" Hey Rickey did you pack your Detective kit"? " Yes did you ?" answered Rickey "Did you? I sure did .answered Rachel "and I am also bringing my safety kit, a rope, and a shovel ." " I can put the shovel and rope in my bag" offered Rickey"Well okay".Rachel said. "Are you guys ready asked Mom “it is time for Dinner." "yes we are ready” answered Rickey and Rachel. During Dinner Dad read the Bible, then after Dinner announced that they were going to leave early tomorrow morning and remember to pack your toothbrush. Before Bed, Rickey and Rachel packed two flashlights one in each bag. Early the next morning Rickey and Rachel woke up at the first call (Time to get up ) then Rickey jumped out of bed and ran across the room yelling "get up Rachel get up" "okay I'm up are you ready to go"? Yes lets go have breakfast" "Time for breakfast grab your bags on the way down " called Mom from the kitchen “Coming” said Rickey and Rachel as the grabbed there bags from of the floor were they had left them last night after packing. After breakfast everyone loaded up in the car and went of on their adventure.
(they were going to stay at Grandmother's uncles cottage for two weeks)
Chapter 2. In Florida
Rickey and Rachel played games until Lunch time and Sally took a long nap, while they Adults talked about when they were little. Dad stopped at Wendys and got two chillies and one Chicken burger a regular burger and three Kids meals. Everyone was full and ready to go on, so they hit the trail. When they got to Florida Dad stop at a gas station The cottage was small but cozy. After they unpacked the twins went for a swim with Grandmother, Sally and Grandfather made sandcastles and set out a Picnic dinner. After that they all went to bed in the cottage. Rickey and Rachel slept in a loft that had beside a window underneath Sally's room and the next day they went for a walk after breakfast during there walk they went to a water park that was a across the road and Grandmother went with Rickey and Rachel. Rickey, Rachel, and Grandmother went on the biggest water slide in the park weeee shouted Rickey and Rachel went SPLASH into the water and swam to the ladder and went back down the slide. At 12:00, they stopped to have lunch at the picnic place. After lunch dad looked at his watch and sighed, then said "In one hour we will all met right here please do not be late". A hour later Rickey,Rachel,and Grandmother were on there way to the picnic bench, when they got there everyone was there except Sally and Grandfather. A minute later they came and Grandfather explained that there was a long line and it took them a long time to get through the line an then they all went to the car and drove back to the cottage. That night Rickey and Rachel made soup and salad with sandwiches ,after Dinner Rickey and Rachel did the dishes. After dishes and Bible study everyone headed to bed except Rickey and Rachel who had permission to stay up late."Hey Rickey listen" whispered Rachel CRASH! BOOM!"What was that noise Rachel"?asked Rickey "I think its a storm and a tree just fell, lets check out the window" answered Rachel. As The twins ran to the window another tree fell CRASH! BOOM!
"I think we should tell Mom and Dad "suggested Rickey
"good idea" answered Rachel
Mom Dad called Rickey and Rachel
Mom and Dad came down stairs
what ?CRASH!BOOM!.
Chapter 3: caught in a hurricane and trade Day
"Well it looks like we are caught in a storm tonight and I do not know if there is a shelter in this house " said Grandfather Hey, Dad, remember that room that Grandmother told us was a storm shelter?" said Rachel. "I sure do, now you ladies please go get some blankets and food and Rachel get as many flashlights and lanterns as you can." said Dad. "Grandfather,Rickey and I will tape the windows for safety." Then everyone will meet in the shelter in a hour. Hurry up!An hour later, everyone met down in the shelter. Rickey,Rachel, Grandmother,Grandfather,and father were playing chutes and ladders. Then they all went to bed. The next day Grandfather turned on the weather radio and it said that the storm had blown over, so everyone took out what they had put in the safe room back were it belonged. After breakfast Rickey and Rachel explored the seashore and found one whole sand dollar they also found two clams and excitedly ran to Grandfather who opened them and found two pearls. At the pearl auction Rickey and Rachel sold on pearl for one thousand dollars.
After that they went to trade day
Wow! Look at that doll! exclaimed Rachel
Wow! Look at that Fire station set! exclaimed Rickey.
"I think we should split up Rickey and Grandfather to gather
Rachel,Grandmother,and Sally to gather, we will meet at the Car in three hours and get lunch then we will come back for another hour than go home." said Dad.
"Hey Grandmother, I will stroll Sally for you, and could we go look at the dolls first"? asked Rachel
"Sure, Thank you" answered Grandmother.
"Sure, Thank you" answered Grandmother.
A the end of the three hours everyone was tired and happy
Rickey had one fire station set,one ambulance and police station set.
Rachel had two matching dolls with wardrobes and one baby doll set.
Sally had three stuffed animals,two dolls ,a soft doll and crayon set.
Grandmother and Grandfather had one carpet and some garden tools.
Mother had one sit of pots,pans,and knifes for the kitchen.
Dad got a horse trailer and three horses for everyone to share .
After that they went back to the cottage and then went to bed. Just as Rachel got in bed she heard a digging sound and a scraping of a shovel , "Rickey wake up sleepy head!" whispered Rachel
" What is it " moaned sleepy Rickey ," Shhhhhhh warned Rachel listen"
"What! Rickey almost yelled then he whispered "who is digging and . why"?. I do not know let's wait until tomorrow to figure out why, Hey Rickey where is your dagger"?
" What do you want to do with it"? Asked Rickey
"Let's wait until the person is gone then throw your dagger on the spot were he/she was digging" answered Rachel
"Okay ,now watch out the window then I while throw it on the spot "said Rickey. Now I will just put the rope down on the spot since the man /woman has left there wait Rickey he/she is coming back with a another man".
"Hey Boss this is the spot but the old man dug it pretty deep I can remember the spot very easily" said Robber number 1 to the boss of the robbers.
Then the robbers left and just in time before a dagger went down to the hole and a rope was pulled up, The next day Grandam's uncle called to say that He had some treasurer and that it was under the window of the guest room he also said that he would be glad if they could dig it up and keep it until he got back from vacation. ( The place were Rickey and Rachel slept!)After breakfast, Rickey and Rachel went to find the dagger when they found it Rachel went up in to the window and lowered a rope,two shovels, and a hook then she slide down the rope and helped Rickey dig for the treasurer. But by lunch time they had not found a thing Rickey and Rachel know that the whole family was going to go swimming after the visited the gift shop so while Mother and grandmother made lunch the twins packed a bag and put: money:for at the gift shop, shovels:for digging at the beach, and of course there swimsuits and towels. When the got the gift shop both Rickey and Rachel went straight to the costume aisle and there they found: two camouflage suits and one Robber suit"Wow"! Exclaimed the twins that must be what they bought to disguise them selves "Lets get one of each "suggested Rickey "Lets" agreed Rachel. At the beach Rickey and Rachel each tried on suit , but only went out of the dressing rooms once to look at each other then burst in to giggles and then they both went in to separate dressing rooms to put on there bathing suits then they went swimming.That night after dinner Rickey got permission from his parents to stay up late and watch for the Robbers only as long as they agreed to call the Police,there Grandparents,or Parents if anything bad happened. So Rickey and Rachel stayed up and waited for them at 2:00 the Robbers came one at a time and the last one that ,came you guess who? RICKEY! He was dressed up as a robber as soon as the little clock that Rachel had connected a string that she pulled when she saw a Robber,ding!Rickey very softly got out of bed and put on his Robber suit "hello fellow” greeted Robber number one ,tonight is digging night and the last one here gets to dig first and if he finds it then he gets to keep it tonight cause that old man is coming back in two days"That night know one had found the treasurer "tomorrow is our last night and we have to find it" said the Boss who came when the sun came up
tomorrow is our only hope!
Hey boss why are we taking it again? Asked the disguised Rickey because he is very old and I checked the records and he only has one relative left who is an Grandmother."He answered The next day Rickey and Rachel woke up at Lunch time. After Lunch Rickey and Rachel went up to there room for a secret meeting " It is like this Rachel if we do not get it before they get back tonight or before Uncle gets back then this vacation is ruined"! Explained. Rickey " I know" said Rachel "Then lets get moving " said Rickey .Rickey and Rachel do not really remember much then Uncle came back and they found the treasurer an hour before he got home and all the Robbers were in jail. (except for Rickey)
